So. You really dig the new trend of modding and pimping out random things. Good for you. It's fun. But you don't happen to have a billion dollars laying around and you don't happen to be a gun nut. So the new cool gun skins from Lauer Custom Weaponry aren't really for you.

No worries. I'm going to show you how to create your own personal Pimpopotamus.

Oh heck yeah.
First things first. Get yourself a little animal statue. Now it doesn't have to be a Hippo, of course, but it is a lot cooler to say Pimpopotamus than Pimp Eagle or whatever. Actually Pimpigator would be pretty rad too, but whatever. The important part is that it's cool and it's cheap. I got mine from the dollar store.

So grab this little guy and your nearest two cans of spray paint. Mine happened to be black and gold, but this would look great with orange-and-black tiger stripes too. Unless you got a tiger statue, in which case you're already done. Maybe the tiger would like some army camo or zebra stripes.

With this guy I decided I wanted to keep his mouth the original color so it wouldn't look too flat. So I shoved a cotton ball in his mouth.

Next step? Glue on a couple jewels. I chose red freaky eyes and a big diamond for his tongue. Freaky. Badass. Pimped.

Now the stripes. There are lots of ways you can do this but I aimed for "easy as possible" so I cut some triangles out of a piece of paper and then soaked the paper in some warm water to mold it roughly to the shape of the Pimpopotamus. Then take your second spray paint color and give the stripes a good couple of spritzes. Neat huh?

And well, that's pretty much it! You can continue jazzing it up any way you want but you're basically done, sucka. Congratulations. You pimped out a dollar store statue of a Hippo. Now give it to a good friend for his birthday.
